Willa
Hollingsworth, 73, died Monday, November 9,
2009, at an Abilene medical center.
Born in Peabody, Kansas on May 6, 1936, Willa was
the daughter of Eleanor Marian (Allen) and Howard
Richard Ubben. She graduated from Amarillo High
School in Amarillo, Texas, where she married
Charles Hollingsworth on August 14, 1954.
In 1966, they moved from Liberal, Kansas to
Abilene, Texas, where Willa received her LVN at
Hendrick School of Nursing. She was supervisor for
central supply for Hendrick Medical Center for 25
years. She was a member of Potosi Baptist Church.
Willa enjoyed sewing and quilting
Willa is survived by her husband, Charles
Hollingsworth of Abilene; daughters, Pattie Ann
Hollingsworth of Abilene and Carrie Hall of Flower
Mound, Texas; three grandchildren, Robert Fowlkes
and wife, Keva, of Iraan, Texas, Chance Petree and
wife, Whitney, of Abilene, and Katie Hall of
Richmond, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Asher
Fowlkes and Addison Fowlkes. Survivors also
include her brothers, Robert Ubben of Tampa,
Florida, and Dwight Ubben and wife, Charlene, of
Amarillo; sister, Betty Reid of Amarillo; three
nephews, Danny Reid, David Reid and Gary Ubben;
and four nieces, Dianna Kimbell, Sharon Carlton,
Debbie Nichols and Tracy Bowman.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until
7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the family home, 233
Avenida Cortez, where her body will be in state.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday,
November 12, at Potosi Baptist Church with Rev.
Keith Clifton, Burtis Williams, and Richard Petree
officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral
Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Interment
will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
